wait wait wait wait was Inuyasha born under a new moon
if this is the case then that might kind of tie in with the fact that he loses his demon powers on the night of the new moon

Something I've sort of considered is piano lessons because lets face it my technique is probably terrible and learning to read piano sheets would be kind of nice
the only problem is that I really don't want to have to learn pieces I have no interest in lol
Offline
I can see it now:
Piano teacher: So you're familiar with the piano?
Me: yeah sort of
Piano teacher: Alright, can you play something for me?
Me: Anything?
Piano teacher: Yep
Me: *proceeds to bang out multiple difficult pieces*

I think what I need is a piano teacher who would (for the most part) let me learn what I want but still teach me how to play properly
because I want to play properly but I really just want to learn to play Zelda music lol

Gotta love how my dad's like "wait how do you understand the adult jokes" and he's the one decided we were going to watch all three Austin Powers movies
Which, by the way, is something my sister apparently liked
My sister is a 10yo
and she liked the Austin Powers movies

The pacing is handled impressively well, especially for such a long series (it has 7 seasons). I remember thinking "how are they going to stretch collecting Jewel shards over 7 whole seasons?" even after the introduction of overarching main antagonist, Naraku. So far there haven't be arcs that feel rushed or stretched out. The writers gave the arc the exact amount of time it needed to resolve cleanly.
At first I was like "this'll be a long show I can watch over a loooooong time"
and suddenly it was a month later and I was somehow already in like season 3
Anyways, the characters are also extremely developed. Each member of the main group has a fleshed out personality, set of motives, backstory, and, probably more importantly, developed relationships with the other characters. They each get about the same amount of attention. I mean, Inuyasha and Kagome are the main focal point of the show, so obviously they get more screen time, but it never feels like the other characters (Miroku, Sango, Shippo) are neglected, which is something that I've noticed in some animes (I'm not saying this is a bad thing; it makes sense that when you need to expand on a certain character's storyline that you focus on them and not the other characters, it just sometimes is so intense that it's almost like the other characters disappear when normally they would be there). If anything, Shippo gets the least amount in terms of episodes focusing directly on him, but that kinda makes sense because he doesn't usually go off and do his own thing (something I will point out is Shippo and Inuyasha's relationship, they act exactly like brothers and it's so well done and feels so natural to their characters).
The main plot is simple, and the writers use the flexibility of a simple plotline to build a bunch of other things around it (like character development!). If you have a super complex storyline, then while of course you'll have a lot of character development it'll be more integrated into the main plot (Fullmetal Alchemist, for example, has one main plot. The "side plots" are just other sections of the story playing out with other characters besides the main ones, any true "side plot" type things usually being about an episode long and few and far between, coming mostly from the original FMA '03). The show fills in the otherwise-basic plot with character development and side plots that oftentimes will end up adding to the main plotline in some way.
Also: the music. It's just??? so good???? I love the orchestral style and the use of motifs. It's incredibly reminiscent of a music score, and there are some scenes that were so perfectly accentuated with the music that I think they just wouldn't have had the same emotional impact without it. Most of the story takes place in Feudal Era Japan, so the instruments are more orchestral, while the music that's often used in the modern world sections use, well, more modern-sounding instruments, like synths and a drum kit. The music storytelling is really well done to say the least.
Ok I'll stop gushing

Never thought I'd hear a cheer go up from everyone when we learned that my dad has covid but there you go
Offline
That sounds terrible out of context let me explain
If my dad didn't have covid and had something else then it would suck and he'd have to quarantine from everyone, but if he had Covid instead, then those of us who had covid (me and my sister) could go see him and we don't have to worry about catching another illness
Also don't worry, as far as I know he's doing fine, his immunity is about as strong as Star Platinum and he's never down with anything for long
