I was researching about the amaranth flower and that historically, particularly in ancient Greece, it represents immortality and eternal life. I also learned that the word "amaranth" is made up of two Greek words: amaranton, meaning "unfading," and anthos, meaning "flower," because of the long life of the plant.

Dragons are almost always depicted as living a long time, so one could trace the origin Amaranth's name to the color of his hair and scales as well as being a dragon demon.

OC(ish) Fact of the Day 30: Dragon demons were often "recruited" to be the King's personal guards/servants. Amaranth's powers developed late, so his status as a dragon demon was unknown until he was 12. He (and Indigo) had to go on the run to get away from the King, who sent demons to capture him. Though they managed to stay away from them for almost two years, Amaranth was eventually captured and put under the Curse, which essentially brainwashed him. He was locked in the dungeons until he was given orders to kill Indigo and Ariana, about a month or so.

OC Fact of the Day 31: Amaranth is not allowed to consume caffeine because he gets really overhyped for the next 12 hours. Allegra was (unfortunately) the one who discovered this fact. Indigo is practically immune to caffeine because her body takes care of it so quickly.

OC Fact of the Day 32: Indigo can hide in shadows. By this I mean she literally becomes the shadow. She can't take other people with her, but she can take objects. She can hide indefinitely, until she decides to leave or the shadow disappears. It's really an excellent technique if you're trying to tail someone, and she can still see and hear what's happening around her.
