"That looks to be the logical path, yeah," Hitan states with a nod.
Offline
"What is the next subject, though?" Germaine asked thoughtfully. "I think we've gone through the basics now."
Offline
(Lol does HPA!Germaine have memory issues)
Hitan blinks.

(considering that the RP is going slow and none of us had posted for a long time, I as well have considerably a bad memory because I have no idea what is going on now)
Apollo just nodded, because he wasn't sure either. I guess now it's a game of "Who will bring up the next topic first".

(what should we do lol?)

Hitan moves his feather accessory thing that still needs to be designed because the narrator made stupid mistakes in past parts of their youth. Oh wow, he does have ears. "Academic-related topics...so that would include grading, including grading systems; weighting, if at all; curriculum planning; how we will weigh the students' levels in more standard topics outside of what they have their talents in; assessed skills; test and assessment formatting...?"
Offline
(iirc, classes aren't mandatory, right?
Offline
(Don't know about the world in the series but I think if you completely flunk all classes you're counted as truant legally xD)
Offline
((Afaik, classes aren't mandatory but students do have to be on campus unless they have a good reason to be out. Also there's tests so uh it wouldn't make sense to not attend any classes and then get a 0 on the test xD bad academic record, even if you're an Ultimate. That's common sense imo.))

(lol Silence is going to have so much fun)
"Man, I didn't really think about any of that," Apollo muttered, having a crisis.
"Perhaps we should discuss tests and the grading system," Calix suggested. "Then we could move outwards onto other relating topics?"
Offline
"I prepared some ideas for grading and a system for that," Germaine mentioned almost immediately. "I'm not going to be running graded tests, though. Still, I made some resources for the students to perhaps strengthen their academic skills if that's required..."
"Our duty isn't talent-grading, but it would still be nice if somehow I can aid the students with their skills!"
Offline
"I wasn't too sure whether or not I wanted to give forth any tests other than those mandated, if there are still any," the blond starts. "For my subject specifically, I was kind of putting more of a stress on getting the information to individual students instead of putting out generalized assessments."
Offline
Calix nodded, "I will have to agree with Hitan, but I do prefer to give extra, smaller quizzes than what is mandated. For me, it's a way to see what the individual students need to work on in particular areas and what information we need to focus more on as a class. I am not sure this year if I will take quizzes for grades or not."
Apollo said, "...I think most of the grades from my class will be from group work and lab experiments... uhm, I don't really plan on giving many tests..." He almost added 'It sounds stressful for both the students and me', but kept it to himself.

(This isn't a reason for all my inactivity on threads but I typically will wait for all other respondents to respond before I do, just putting this here for note)

((Apollo is mood xD))
"I see! Well, from my part, I won't be handling a lot of academic materials, since that isn't really related to my subject. But it is important to make sure our students can stay focused and work together. That would ensure they fare well in your classes!" The teacher smiled very brightly. "So that's what I'll be trying to focus on. I'll try to be a good support!"
((Lol good luck, Germaine.))
Offline
"I think both the teachers and the students will need that," Hitan muses. "We don't have many psychologists working with us, do we?"
Offline
Calix shrugged slightly, "I know we have a school counselor, but I am not sure if there are more than just them. Considering the school, there are perhaps more than one. That's in my own guess, though."

(Echo, unless HDK stands for something other than "Half-Divine Killer" in this world, maybe you should call him Calix. Just a suggestion because I'm slightly fearing for some characters' lives reading that. )

(hejfjwjdjBSHFJWJDJF I'M SO SORRY I'M SO USED TO CALLING HIM "HDK" OH GODS-)

"Oh, alright. I have it," Hitan acknowledges with a small nod that a kid might make.
Offline
"There might be a school psychologist too..." Germaine thought aloud, "but I don't even know the counselor."
Offline
Calix nodded slightly, "I as well do not know the counselor personally, and it has been a while since I have been here, so I am not sure if we have a psychologist. It's likely, though."
Offline
"At least they are there," Hitan observes. He adds, "That's especially important if our students need the services."
Offline
"Good to keep in mind, then!" Germaine declared.

Calix nodded before adding in, "Back to the testing, all my tests and assignments are on paper."
Apollo didn't say anything. He's really unprepared and very nervous. Of course, he had a pretty good idea about labs, they would be on paper, but tests? He heard of teachers using electronic tests but that seemed like too much of a hassle to him.
Offline
"Mine will depend," Hitan shares. "Some students probably prefer paper over computer and vice versa, so I'll probably ask them which version they want."
Offline
"I'm planning to use paper for most of the assignments I'll hand out. They're nothing big, and I'm sure the students will enjoy getting to write a bit." Germaine finished her sentence and gave a nod.
Offline
"Nice! It looks like we all have the gist figured out at least," Hitan observes happily.
Offline
"Anything else we should go over? Perhaps weighted grades, their talents, and how we will grade their work?" Calix said after nodding in agreement with Hitan.
