Fun fact: The narrator read "hotel" as "hottie."
Anyways, squawk.
"Oh, I can go," Kaori goes cheerfully. "I live in the hotel down a few streets. I haven't used most of the sheets I have, so that's why I said that if I wash them well, it should be okay."
Hint: Now is a good time to remember how he hobbled while he walked, Francis.

"Uhm, well, I think it would be faster if I go get them. No offense but, like," Francis' face flushed a bit as he felt like Kaori would perhaps take offense. "You don't seem to be in best physical condition, so it would be faster if I went."
Francis stands up.
"I promise I'll be back super quickly! Just stay here, 'kay?"

"Ah, that's okay." If Kaori is embarrassed, which he is, he doesn't show it. "If they need you to be a resident, just tell them my name. It's Kaori Mine," he says with a little smile. "Tell them to put it on my tab."
Offline
"Okie dokie! Which hotel is it? The name?"
Offline
Kaori tells him whatever the heck the name of the hotel is. In the meantime, he inches a little towards a bird. He doesn't try to kneel down, though.

Francis said, "I'll B-R-B real quickly!" With that, Francis ran off.
Francis didn't take very long to return. He had a few white towels, which was good because that's why he left in the first place.
"Baaaack with towels," Francis sang softly.

By the time the other returns, Kaori can be found sitting down, with one leg bent towards the other, very nearby the bird. Seems like he doesn't care that he's wearing very light-colored material, though he did dust off the floor a little before he sat down. He's talking to the bird with his hands on his lap but looks up once Francis comes back. "Hi again," he greets softly, apparently still accustomed to talking in the same volume as he was to the bird.

Francis held to towels out to Kaori.

"Arigatou," he thanks happily. Taking them without any tremble in his hands, he holds them out towards the bird, which is definitely staring at him like he's an idiot. In a softer way than before, though. That's notable.
"Look," he says to the bird, wobbling his hands a little to make the towels jiggle. "Aren't they nice and soft? Fluffy, too? I really like that about this hotel," explains Kaori. "They have such nice towels."
Offline
Francis nodded, "Soft like a cloud, T-B-H."
Offline
"A cloud?" He ponders the comparison before remembering that he isn't someone who's that technical. "Like a big, floofy sheep," he introduces to the bird, holding the blankets out towards it as if seeking approval. "A floofy sheep under the warm sunlight."
Honestly? The bird looks like it just wants to get it over with. At the same time, though...

"Sheep are nice," Francis thought aloud.

"I'd like to see one up close one day," he tells both the bird and Francis. "I wonder if they really do like grass." Setting down the towels on his legs, he reaches slowly towards the bird to pick it up.

Francis watched Kaori.

"Have you seen sheep?" he asks the bird. "Do you like grass, too? If you've met and you both like grass, I think you would be friends." He makes sure that he's situated firmly and moves the blankets around in his hands. "It's good to have friends. Not too many, but also a good number of them, so they help make your life brighter and so you make their life brighter, and all of you don't have too much pressure to include each other in your life too frequently."
Yes, Kaori is preaching about friends to a bird.
He wraps it up carefully with the blankets, making sure the wrapping is neither too loose nor too tight. Then, he picks it up slowly, rocking it a little as he tests his own limits.
