Sorry I'm not actually back yet, I just wanted to note that I saw that CC's forum is down, and I'm pretty sure the SF forums also got purged (oof) 'cause Zura/Lahash/Samurai hadn't logged in
There goes that. (oof x2)

the thing is I'm not even sad about either of them lol. But it's not 'cause I'm used to it, it's 'cause idk what the heck I was doing with forum!Galaxian over there and a "clean slate" could be good (I'm so sorry Echo lol but if I wanna fix him I think we need to do past roleplaying and I think we get so stuck with that)

Alrighty, with that out of the way, lemme give an inactivity notice. I'll stay logged out of the forum for a bit.
I also won't be responding to Discord until further notice...or until I login again and reply through there, since I probably will forget to give notice. But until then, I won't be looking at it at all, period. Actually, I deleted all versions of it lol.

Expect me to log in here earlier than I will on Discord, so if you want to reach out, feel free to PM here (or reply to a thread if we have a chat thread). Other than that, email will be the best bet since I check it once in a blue moon...I don't think we really use email, though. But I can't guarantee a response 'til I get back.

Reason for absence: There are a few, the biggest of which is the usual one. I don't feel too well, and don't want to accidentally take it out on anyone. Life always finds a way to start sucking around this time of year, I'm noticing.
There are some things I'll need to do once I get back, but that's for later. Procrastination yay.

Duration: No promises for anything this time. Just can guarantee that I won't leave permanently. That's sorta the default, but ah, heck it. Hopefully I can do ArtFight in July, so maybe then...? Or sometime during the summer idk. Again, I dunno. I'll figure it out. Maybe once things cool down a bit, the need for a break in the first place will magically disappear. I need to figure out what I want to do in terms of online presence and stuff. Been having a bit of a crisis in that area, which is probably unnecessary.
It's entirely possible the moment I get out of the current rut I'll be running back here to do my usual spamming, but for some reason it doesn't feel quite right at the moment.

That's about it. Good luck with all you're doing!

Kanon really is the funniest because his strategy is:
-Let Shiryu and Hyoga get beat up by a Specter
-Use the "technique doesn't work twice on a Saint" rule that way (he doesn't even have to get beat up, he just needs to watch...ngl this is pretty much cheating in Saint interpretations I'm pretty sure.)
-Galaxian Explosion with no other explanation
-Row away
-Realize you forgot forgot to ask where to row. Says "eh" and keep going anyway.

lol imagine the river wasn't straight or something, they'd get lost for weeks/months

His friendship with Mu is also a reason why Mu is so hecking patient.

Milo and Aiolia:
Mu: Do you see what I have to deal with.

I keep remembering that Shion's plan screwed over pretty much one of the best chess pieces left on Athena's side for...for what??
Idc if I'm overstating it but it feels like Shaka could've soloed the Judges. I mean, other than running through the Temples, Saga/Shura/Camus pretty much got halted by him alone. Bruh momento for sure

I counted, Saga took 3 punches to the face and then was hit against the wall; Camus took 3 punches to the face and then was hit against the wall; but Shura only got shown getting hit upward

Angularly you can see that Saga was hit at a 90 degree angle and hit the wall sitting, while Camus...kinda just fell flat onto the ground after hitting the wall, meanwhile Shura's body contorted so that he fell facefirst onto the ground, and therefore more net force was exerted on Shura from whatever many punches there were to invert the angle of his body.
Hidden grudge momento (I don't even blame him)

Btw the other day I realized that since the "same technique shouldn't work on a Saint twice," that means Milo never saw Galaxian Explosion, and Saga/Shaka/Shura never saw Tenbu Horin
Shaka's case makes sense, 'cause it feels like something that he would have refined as he grew up. But Saga's case is kinda,,, iffy,,, (reminder, I don't subscribe to the 100% good Saga theory)

But then that wouldn't hecking make sense, 'cause then only Seiya would've seen Galaxian Explosion and have been able to give a warning about it, compared to Shiryu...oh well

Heavy enemies kinda annoying ngl. Visually, I mean. I don't use Shift operators that well. I peak at Ray S1 and occasionally some Shaw/Cliffheart/Rope usage

Awesome sauce, even though I don't really know much about Devil May Cry except for 2 Vergil memes (the chair and also "I am the storm that is approaching"...wait no nvm also child support memes. That's three.)
The Vergil memes are because of Fate Saitou btw. I'm not even totally sure why they were connected other than the coat? I can't recall anything chair-related.

I'm not necessarily unhappy with the way my art has gone, 'cause I think more nowadays and that's always a good thing (little me did not. at all)

I do wish I didn't go from one extreme to the other, though, when it comes to how seriously I try to take every single thing. Like please brain, I don't think we need to "finish" everything or make all the lines as perfect as they can be. 'Cause then the lines can't all be perfect and it's not even fun anymore, and that literally goes against the point? Why are you nuts like this

Unfortunately, it's just perfectionism.
On that note, I've always been aware how arrogant "perfectionism" sounds when I'm describing my art process, because the final product is so far from perfect. It makes me sound really pretentious. Unfortunately psychologically/mentally that is the reason. At least it makes for a good visual illustration of why perfectionism can be such a big flaw.

Gonna loosely discuss my opinion on the Arcade collab. This is your spoiler warning, 'cause today I don't feel like compressing stuff lol.

As an official Arcade collab, it was good. As an unofficial Fate/Last Encore collab, it was amazing. The start was rough, but the characters are very endearing and bounce off each other very well. If anything, I would say that female Merlin feels like she was somewhat shoehorned in because I didn't feel like her presence was as needed, but it wouldn't make sense for her to appear in a summer event and then not appear in a collaboration with what was essentially her source material, so I get it. Draco's personality is also a little rough, but still, she's a good heroine for the event, and the climax of everything felt very befitting for her. It was a lil overdramatic, very fitting for Emperor Nero.
Funnily enough, this collab made me understand Nero more. I was kinda eh about her earlier, mostly 'cause I'm not the biggest fan of her rivalry with Elizabeth (who incidentally I also find annoying). I think this is impressive, seeing as I haven't looked at her actual source material.
Top points: Banter between Setanta (who is so cute) and Locusta (who is so funny). I keep seeing her as kinda a kid, but then I remember she's probably supposed to be a young adult and it becomes funnier that she's having beef with an actual child. Wonder how she'd deal with adult Cu. And then the end. The bond between a Master and Servant pretty much aligns with my preference for multiversal relationships holding constant, and even though I don't know anything about Hakuno and Nero really, I could see how significantly Hakuno cares for Saber. Even if Draco is a mere vestige of a possibility, they still will try their best to help her and find someone who can save her. It's really, really touching. And yes, I did cry lol. I couldn't help it.

Criticisms: There is just so much potential between Tiamat and Nero that was mostly just thrown at us...and

Another funny thought is that the Saints (especially the higher up in rank you go) can react to mosquitoes and stuff, but that becomes way too annoying, so instead they have to let bugs bite them. Which sounds painful ngl
Alternatively you could think that their skin is diamond-grade (since they can avoid concussions while being beaten up at light speed) and therefore they don't have to worry about this at all

Tfw you realize SS!Kiaan isn't a Gold Saint because they'd get way too overstimulated to function effectively (/j? /hj?)

Every time I remember how Aiolia manifested Healing Powers (TM) for plot reasons just to never use it again. I laugh. Bro could've been OP, but the author took it away from him (lol)

On an entirely different note, every time I remember that the Gold Saints were done over by a group of teens who had just reached the same threshold that they were on, I go into hysterics
Like yeah, the power of a miracle, sure. But bros basically got bowled over by people who just learned the Seventh Sense, do you see how funny this is? It's like if a kendo master got destroyed by a beginner swordsperson

I reread the recent Dongfang arc in HYXHN and,,, agh (the second time hits different for real lol)
I can think about self the Western way as much as I like, but I still prefer the Chinese way. The Western way just sometimes makes everything too abstract, I guess; it really likes listing stuff out and describing everything out. Just because I like the scientific method doesn't mean I'm not aware of its flaws, which applies to methodologies like it. Though I admit I'm highly biased toward the way the Chinese conceptualize the soul compared to how the idea is immediately dragged into a religious context on the other side, which just can't be objectively described

Another thing that's interesting, which btw isn't totally related so this is transitionally incorrect lol, is how the Chinese tend to talk about being mentally like a child much more favorably, whereas for the Western side (from my experience anyways) it tends to feel like an impediment, like someone isn't developed as much as others are. So in HYXHN I get destroyed by how often "children" as a concept come up, whereas for other media I tend to see it used as if it's a vestige of weakness? I dunno if anything I'm saying makes sense 'cause it might not (this is pretty much a non-statement lol)

Culturally though, the Chinese tend to seem mature, while the West seems to like rowdy activities and playing more. It's more visible. I wonder if that means our ideas aren't quite as genuine. Hypocrisy is inevitable on either side, but I do wish it weren't the case here.

Also the other day I was writing in my dream and angsted my real self really really bad because my brain doesn't connect with what it's doing in dreamspace :-P not related to the above at all, it's just rn I feel like writing one post only.

I really need to work on more full-body sketches (and I want to, believe me), but so far I think the ranking of how well the Gold Cloth fits them works like this:
-Raez and Adam: Really really well
-Asa: Some weird parts but pretty ok overall
-Sistema, Katsura, Aureole: What the heck am I doing
-Mitsuharu: the heck is he doing
-Vilhelm: If I had a shred of empathy for him I wouldn't make him a Gold Saint. Bro is trying so hard and got so far but in the end it didn't even matter
Technically this is half of the Gold Saints since 2/13 don't belong to me. If you don't count Naira and Lucina, that is. Lucina has a...half-body? I think I could extend it relatively easily. She's hard to draw tho.

Why couldn't I have been blessed with the talent to draw armor like Kurumada does :')

Raez absolutely rocks the Gold Cloth btw. Like not in terms of colors (still trying to figure that out), but rather in terms of just how it fits.

'Course, Milo still wears it better, 'cause it was designed for him. But Raez looks so handsome.

Anyways, in canon, if I saw him I would run. If I was a Specter or Marina, I mean. Dude looks 6' 5'' and is ready to throw hands. I am not messing with him.

Btw Ines is pretty broken lol.
Hoederer, meanwhile...he's neat. I think the Stun will probably come in handy someday. But maybe his Skill 3 is more broken, either that or he's not leveled up enough and I don't know how to use him properly. For now he's mostly there as moral support for Ines, which is pretty funny in its own right. I'll give it a pass.
For some reason I thought he'd be the same subclass as Humus. He was not. I was like "why bro dying so fast" (bro doesn't have enough self-healing for this)
No wonder he came here lol, I'm too stupid to go on to later chapters.
