"...you're telling me this isn't magic?"

"Not one bit of it is."

"I don't believe you. I mean how is this a thing???? The picture, it's. it's moving!!"

"Humans are very smart, yes? They know so many things and work with the elements of the earth to make this possible."
Apollo tilted his head, his eyes glowing yellow as he talked excitedly.
"They figured out how to make things the gods couldn't dream up when creating the universe! Wonderful, isn't it?! They use technology and it's amazing!"
Apollo went back over to his papers, picking them up from the ground. He scribbled some kind of strange symbols on the bottom of them. He muttered something, and the letters burst into puffs of blue smoke.
"Humans are incredible."

Elaine still looks confused "...ok then, i guess if you say so..."

Blue smoke puffed up beside Apollo. Apollo plucked a small pad of paper from the air.
"Huh, that was quick! Hmm..."
He looked up at Elaine and said, "You want to learn magic, right? Care to help me do a spell?"

Elaine's eyes lit up as she tossed the phone aside, which Frances caught. "Yes of course, how do I do this?" She asked excitedly.
Frances silently handed the phone back to Apollo.

Apollo quietly thanked Frances, put his phone away, and said, "First, we have to set up... This symbol!" He quickly scribbled down a symbol on a piece of paper and showed Elaine.
He pulled out a couple pouches from his bag, handing one to Elaine. It had gold powder in it.
"We need to make this symbol on the ground with this powder."

"Oh, ok..." She took the pouch then she realized where she was, "can we go to another room? I don't wanna get this stuff on the books.."

"Good idea! Lead the way, then."

Elaine made her way back upstairs, muttering something about how there must be an empty room somewhere. It took her a while but she finally managed to find a completely empty room, no furniture, nothing. "This looks good..." She plopped down on the ground "So...what do I do again?"

He handed her another drawing of the symbol.
"Help me make this symbol on the ground using the powder," Apollo smiled. He started to put powder carefully on the ground.

Elaine joined him, laying the powder down, trying to match the pattern "..so how does this pattern work? What does it mean?"
(Frances is watching from the door btw, so he's still there)

"It's for teleportation. My servant will draw the target symbol on himself while we are putting the location symbol. Once we activate the spell, he will be teleported here. Pretty cool, right? He's one of the friends I mentioned who can teach you magic."

Elaine made a :O face, "That sounds so cool!"

Apollo grinned, continuing to put down powder.
"I think you'll like my servant. He's a good kid, real talented in magic. He was raised by humans, taught human magic."

"Wait, I'm gonna be taught by a child???" Ah yes, that is the info Elaine decides to focus on.

"Not exactly, he's eighteen," Apollo said. "He reminds me of a kid, though. He's babyfaced, too."
Apollo lightly laughed.

"eighteen's not a kid." Elaine sounded almost personally offended, as if Apollo had just called her a kid.

Apollo smiled at her, "I'm nineteen, so honestly anyone younger than me can be a kid."
I mean, yeah, but also no-???
"Plus, it's not his age that reminds me of a kid, it's his actions and attitude."

"Oh I see." Elaine nods in understanding.

Apollo watched Elaine put the powder down. He done about half of the symbol already, so now he's watching to see if Elaine can fill in the rest.

Elaine is working slower than Apollo, still getting used to whatever this is, but eventually she does finish it. "Right so how does this work-"

"The spell is easy. We need to chant 'Come forth' five times," Apollo explained.

"Oh that seems...oddly simple."

"Sweet, simple, and to the point!" Apollo nodded. "So chant with me! One... Two... Three!"
"Come forth..."
"Come forth..."
"Come forth..."
"Come forth..."
"Come forth..."

Elaine chanted with Apollo, trying to shake the feeling that this is a bit stupid...just saying come forth and expecting something to happen.

The powder symbol glowed, the dust starting to move. It spun into a small tornado and then took shape into a human-ish figure. Out of it stepped a young, pretty man. He had black, glossy horns and a metallic, lizard-like tail. His eyes were a pale orange, his pupils a milky white. He wore loose-fitting clothing with golden accents and jewelry, gold strings, jewels, and chains hanging off his horns.
He quickly came up to Apollo and knelt onto his knees.
"My Lord, I am ready to serve," the boy said.

Elaine watched amazed, "Hello!" She chirped, "What's your name? And can I touch your horns?"

The boy doesn't answer until Apollo said, "Oh! It's okay, you can get up and speak now."
The boy stood up, putting one hand on the hilt of his sword. He turned his head towards the direction of Elaine's presence.
"Ruin. Do not touch me nor my Lord."
He's a bit threatening, a small scowl on his face. His tail swished a bit.
