~+~
It's just a nice morning, almost noon. Everyone's probably off doing their own stuff. The Thaohal Mage Guild is known for being efficient in most things they do.
One kid, however, seems like he has nothing to do today.
Martin was bored of playing with sticks for the past hour. He was just by himself. And it's not really fun to play when you don't have playmates. Well, playing was just a small part of the things he wanted to do. So maybe it was okay that he got bored.
Anyways, he started walking aimlessly around. Maybe there was something interesting to see before he went off to read some books.

((ooh following, what's this about?))

They had something to do. Possibly.
Kiaan/Kiaane is just walking along towards the outer borders/training area with various things in hand. One, a book. Two, a zhua. Three, a "water bottle" (basically a water capsule) stuffed with cold and completely bitter coffee to the brim. Like usual they have zero awareness of what's nearby or is just ignoring everything.
Offline
Martin perked up when he spotted Kiaane. He focused more on the coffee bottle for some reason.
Then he started following from a distance out of curiosity.
Offline
Kiaane either doesn't notice or doesn't care. They continue on, at one point starting to swing the zhua and then stopping just about as soon as they realize the motion.
Offline
Martin doesn't really mind that the other does not care. He wondered where Kiaane was going. Maybe, if they were going to practice, it would be interesting to see that.
Offline
Kiaane wasn't going anywhere too special. Well, they were going to the place within the premises that they had deemed appropriate for training purposes. After a presumable time-skip where their steady but sure gait proves to be able for the stalker-child to be able to follow up with, Kiaane set the cup and book down on a table-like structure nearby, never having turned their head around even once.
Offline
As mentioned before, Martin doesn't mind. He's actually a little glad of not being noticed. Or at least he thinks he hasn't been noticed.
Anyways, he flounced over to the table thing and sat under it with his legs crossed. His focus is split between the coffee and Kiaane.
Offline
The question is how he does that without being noticed since Kiaane's still in front of the table. Y'know, just chilling with a deadly tool in a hand and an uncapped coffee capsule in the other. Then they just casually take it up again and drink out of it. The coffee's half gone in like a split second. And yes, this is like their third cup in this hour. And then they cap it again, set it down with a thonk, and turn around to presumably train a bit.
Offline
Martin stared at the coffee for a while, wondering what it tasted like. He had never actually had coffee to begin with. Once again he looked at Kiaane when they turned to train.
Offline
Well, Kiaane's not the type to really start doing anything impressive or anything. If they're aware of a spectator, they don't show it in their efforts. In fact, the heads of the guild could be under that table and they'd still be acting the way they were. In any case, they reached the relative middle of the flat grounds before stopping. Extending a hand, they pointed at the air, drawing a vague circle-like shape without speaking. After only a moment, the circle blared to life, extending slightly in radius before pulsing but changing no longer in any other way.
Offline
Martin watched with an interested face, having forgotten everything about the drink on the table.
Offline
They lowered their arm, but the circle didn't vanish. However, as soon as they moved their other arm to the side, it jerked to life. In a huge motion, the shape flipped around horizontally, but not completely, phasing through Kiaane before maintaining a parallel stance to the ground.
Offline
The kid had been expecting the circle to disappear, so he let out a little "ooh" when he saw that. Free magic show, yay!
Offline
Kiaane definitely heard that, but they don't care much. Rather, they just continued on. In reality, it was only just a magical circle, so with a few more moments and a sequence of 3 flashes, a sphere of light emerged, then distorted and grew into what appeared to be a long and thin object still glowing in the color of the fading circle.
Offline
If they have seen Martin before, they should know he goes :0 whenever glowy magic is used.
He's still concentrating on observing.
Offline
They really haven't noticed that before.
In any case, the circle fades out completely and they grasp the long and thin object, which appears to be a very simple staff. No particular decorations or anything.
As per the usual usual, if Martin doesn't speak up, Kiaane's just going to continue ignoring the fact there's a spectator.
Offline
"That was cool!" He yelled out, forgetting he was supposedly trying to not attract attention.
Offline
Fortunately for him, Kiaane doesn't react harshly. They kind of just turn and gaze at him neutrally.
"I see," they did finally say at some point.
Offline
"How'd you do that???" Martin stood up and bumped his head on the edge of the table. "Ouch. Well, how???"
Offline
"Magic," they answered. No irony. No humor. Just the statement.
Offline
He blinks his big yellow eyes at them. "Well, yeah, I know that. But how did you do it??? It looks powerful!!!"
Offline
"A magic circle is the means, not the result," they answered directly.
Offline
"So if you hadn't done the circle, you could not have made that staff thingy???"
Offline
"Not in this instance."
Offline
"Can you also make other things??? How does it work? When did you learn it? Is it hard?"
Offline
Kiaane really didn't like talking about themselves. As if stunned by all the questions, they just said, "Yes."
Offline
"Okay so you can make other things and it's hard, but 'yes' doesn't answer 'how does it work?' and 'when did you learn it'!" He remarked.
Offline
If Kiaane's mind worked in slang, it probably would be thinking something like 'y u make me talk so much???'
They weren't noticeably struggling in terms of facial expressions (they didn't make weird expressions while thinking or anything), but the huge gap that's not answering questions is probably indicative enough.
