So so so so sosososososo. been thinking more about the dlc trailer. messmer has the eyes of a dragon. he's partaken in dragon communion. also, it's incredibly likely that he's of the golden lineage, from godfrey's age. he is a demigod associated with serpents, and the duelists who are former gladiators in the colosseums were dressed with the iconography of serpents to mock the traitor. and rykard's treachery wasn't revealed until near the shattering war so it wasn't him they mocked. unfortunately i don't think he's connected to mohg at all since he is his own demigod, and not an agent of mohg/an aspect of miquella corrupted by mohg's meddling. he does seem possibly connected to miquella however, since they are shown to be similiar in some way

i cannot wait to find out about the gouged man. he seems to have similiar iconography to gideon ofnir, and he's obviously important since he got to show up twice instead of just once. the only other two are demigods central to the plot, miquella the unalloyed and messmer the impaler. he's been split apart and striken through by a golden light, similiar to marika's crucifixion. what is his deal, why is he important enough to be put on equal footing with the driving forces of the dlc's plot? is he gideon, now decrepit and pierced through? it's not even clear if he or the golden light is the force pulling it out of his head. the dominant hand has been pierced, is it that his arm was grown through and forced into motion?
