It's hard to tell because of the mask, but HDK felt very happy at the compliment. He doesn't quite know what to say now, so he stood there quietly, as if waiting for orders or commands. He has a straight posture, and he folded his hands in front of him.

HDK watched, observant as always. Maybe Amar can tell HDK is watching? Or that someone is watching, anyway.

HDK still watched for a bit before turning his head to observe the bookshelf nearby.

HDK went over to a bookshelf and gently ran his fingers on the spines of a few books. He asked while examining the books' titles, "Do you enjoy reading?"

"I enjoy it very much," HDK said. There isn't anything else he can find to say, so he goes quiet, staring at the books. It's impossible to tell what he's thinking due to his mask and all.

"History and nonfiction," HDK replied, looking over. "As well as different other studies, like Mathematics and English. And you?"

"Ah, I suppose you are not picky, then?"

Uh, the Narrator isn't good with numbers so uH, there is more than plenty cookies.

"It's good to have a wide selection of book genres you enjoy to read. I personally wish I wasn't so picky, but I can't seem to read anything that isn't nonfiction without having a disliking towards it."

It makes sense that HDK can cook/bake pretty well, especially since he's the only one (usually) in the mansion that actually needs to eat food. Perhaps he learned so he wouldn't get tired of the same food over and over? Or maybe he learned because it seemed gentlemanly, as he does seem to be the type to do his best to please others.

"None have caught my interest or liking," HDK shrugged.

If Amar focused just hard enough on detail, he could perhaps catch the light's gentle glint through the eye holes of the mask. It's hard to tell the colour of HDK's eyes, and if Amar caught some detail of it, he would notice that the colours were constantly changing. It didn't seem natural, the way the colours shifted wasn't natural. It was off and wrong,  something about it was very wrong. Despite this, though, perhaps Amar could tell through such a small glimpse that HDK gave off a kind and sweet-tempered aura. Perhaps without the mask perhaps HDK would look much more meek... What a strange trait a serial killer would have.

Other than that, his mask seems polished and well kept, no dents or impurities. Light shines off of it as it is made of a glossy metal.

Perhaps Amar can feel HDK's humble smile through the mask. A calm and friendly smile that Amar couldn't see, but perhaps he could feel. If was warm, it was welcoming, it was strange. Such a strange thing for HDK to offer to someone who has overstayed their welcome and basically threaten his 'son'. What a strange thing for a kid who has killed countless lives, documenting each kill like an experiment, to offer. What a strange thing for a strange man to offer. Amar can't see the smile, but perhaps he could feel the gesture. Or maybe he can't. Who knows.

HDK continued with, "Do you follow popular trends and stuff of that sort?"

"That's a quite interesting reply," HDK said. "To add on to it, I would say that old trends that are rarely known now will mix in with current ones, or there's a possibility that current trends are subcategories of old ones. There's many possibilities, isn't that nice? A world of many, endless possibilities."



(HDK is super polite and has dealt and lived with worse people tbh poor dude qjdjwkkcs I keep forgetting he's literally nineteen when he acts like he's in his late twenties or older)

He hesitates. Not in a "I don't want to sit by you" kind of way, he truly didn't mind Amar's presence, but rather it was more in a "I'm allowed to sit?" sort of way.

HDK sits down, a bit awkwardly as if he wasn't  used to it, with a slight nod.

The young man continues the conversation.

"I must agree, people are very weird. I have come across many in my life, each one very weird yet very interesting. Tell me, do you enjoy being around people?"

"Your pets? What kind of animals are they?" HDK asked.

"Oh, how interesting! I personally don't own any pets," HDK said. "They eat souls you said?"

"Hm... can you go into more detail of what they look like?" HDK sounds a bit amazed that such creatures exist.

"They sound like quite amazing creatures. Going back a bit, how exactly do they lure in their prey?" HDK asked.
