[Past/Reference @Specter] Sunny hasn't always been a bucket of salt.

It's really hard to tell, but sometime in the past, a long time ago...
...okay, not that long ago. This was probably a little more than a decade ago at longest, but it's an early spring day. That's always been when Sunny is the most energetic (in contrast to him in autumn and winter. Especially winter. He's like constantly dead inside during winter. Figures); in fact, spring is one of the only times where he'll get up earlier than Sollux. Whenever that is, since the narrator has no reference for that.
But you know...5 A.M. seems a bit too early.
Not for Sunny, though, who has stormed into Sollux's room in the happiest way possible for him.
"Solly! Wake up! Wake up!" he chants as soon as he enters, making a beeline for her bed. Uh oh.

A blonde child wraps herself up tightly inside her covers. A Sollux cocoon!
"N-noooo..." she protests in a very soft tone, turning her back to Sunny.

Re: [Past/Reference @Specter] Sunny hasn't always been a bucket of salt.

"Wake up!" Sunny goes as if he didn't hear her protests. Maybe he didn't, since he's being so loud. The air naturally amplifies his voice, so even if he isn't half-shouting (which he is), he'd still sound like he is. In a jiffy, he's right next to her bed. "Wake up or Ima jump on your bed!"

That "threat" seems to cause a reaction in Sollux, as she (reluctantly) unwraps herself and hops to the floor.
A half-sleepy Sollux in a nice yellow nightgown stands before her brother.

"Okay! Now get dressed! And go eat breakfast!" he orders. "Quick!"
Wow, okay.

((This Sollux is tiny and so cute asdfghjklñlk))

Sollux nods and complies with his wishes.
Getting dressed comes first, right? Thankfully, there is a spare set of clothes laid out neatly on a nearby chair. Sollux approaches it while rubbing her eyes.

Re: [Past/Reference @Specter] Sunny hasn't always been a bucket of salt.

Thankfully, Sunny runs off so he doesn't...watch her get dressed, 'cause that'd be really awkward even if they're kids. He's going off while saying something about something, the latter something probably being something related to food, but he nyooms off too quickly for that to be heard.

Re: [Past/Reference @Specter] Sunny hasn't always been a bucket of salt.

She's probably not as quick with dressing as Sunny would have liked her to be, but getting dressed is getting dressed.
Sollux pulls on her shirt backwards and, with unsteady fingers, buttons her dress.
Then she puts on socks and shoes. But her boots are left untied, as she doesn't know how to do that yet. Maybe some kind of sandals would have been better suited for this kind of weather.
Once she is all set, Lux ambles out of the room, looking for Sunny.

Re: [Past/Reference @Specter] Sunny hasn't always been a bucket of salt.

Sunny's in the kitchen, and it's probably not too hard to guess that. He needs to act as supervision, after all. Also, he needs to make breakfast.
Which is kinda questionable, since one would think that he'd make it before getting Sollux up to give her a bit more time to sleep? But who knows, maybe this is his idea of time conservation.

Re: [Past/Reference @Specter] Sunny hasn't always been a bucket of salt.

A little more alert and awake now, Sollux narrowly avoids a step which would have been a clear opportunity to trip, and instead makes her way to a stool in the kitchen.
"Hey Sunny, what's for breakfast?"

Lux climbs on the stool and sits down.
"What's for breakfast?" She repeats louder. "I'm hungry!"

Re: [Past/Reference @Specter] Sunny hasn't always been a bucket of salt.

There's a cup of almond milk on the table, along with an orange and a banana.
"Bread, chicken, beets, carrots, cheese, and beans..." Sunny recites quickly. Well, that's a lot. He gives the pan in his hand another shake.
...wait, he's not even using the stove. He's instead just holding it in the air with a hand underneath it. He's kind of struggling with all the weight in the pan.

"Aaaaall of that!?" Sollux's mouth becomes an o. "Goody! I can't wait!" She does what is pretty much a double fist pump.

"Yeah!" A grin from Sunny, but then a frown. "I don't think I can get enough heat to cook this." He makes a somewhat sad expression.

She briefly rubs her hands together, and grinning with an implied giggle, places her hands against the bottom of the pan.

Re: [Past/Reference @Specter] Sunny hasn't always been a bucket of salt.

"No! Don't put your hands on the bottom! You're going to burn yourself!" Sunny yelps, lifting up the pan with all of his might so she can't keep touching it.
Indeed, the pan's already pretty hot from Sunny's efforts.

"They're going to burn if you keep your hands there for too long!" Sunny rebukes, lifting the pan higher and struggling mightily with both his strength and his big brotherly concern.

Re: [Past/Reference @Specter] Sunny hasn't always been a bucket of salt.

"I can do it!"
Hopefully Sunny doesn't get burned easily, because Sollux just decides to reach for his arm to pull the pan down. And her hands are really hot. Maybe more than the pan bottom.

Re: [Past/Reference @Specter] Sunny hasn't always been a bucket of salt.

Sunny can't actually get burnt per se, since you're not supposed to get a sunburn when it's spring. But it's still uncomfortably hot for him. He scowls and then just proceeds to leave the kitchen premises.
