"For example... Caramel Latte," she mentioned, eyes glancing at Echo to see her reaction. "He's a deer, and I named him like that because his hair is a very light color."

"Yes he is! Especially around the neck. He likes to be caressed sometimes."

"I'm sure he'd like to meet you... someday..."
Her voice trailed out with the last word.
Germaine squeezed a clump of her hair to let some of the water out.

She straightened on instinct, as if to give Echo an impression of Germaine being someone she could trust.
Germaine already was, to be honest. The goddess's reaction simply caused her to react without much thought.

"We're almost there. Are you okay?"

"That's great. Let's find a place to take shelter from the rain."

It's not very clear if the village's setting is in an advanced area of the Medieval Sect, or a rural area of the Modern one. Anyways, both Germaine and Echo step into a path paved with smooth stone slabs. As expected of a rainy day, the streets are mostly empty of people, and the few that are scurrying around don't pay attention to the pair.

Judging by her sure steps, it seems as though Germaine does know where she's heading.
 

"Isn't this a sweet place?" Germaine asked Echo without a major thought.

"You really think so?" Germaine smiled. "What do you like about it? I know we've been here only for a few minutes, but I like the way the streets are structured and the stones arranged. It feels orderly."

A slight pause happened as Germaine took a quick look around. 
"I passed through here earlier today. Haven't been around in a long time, but the people seem just as friendly as last time."

There's a bit of a change that happened to Germaine as soon as she and Echo stepped into the town. Germaine no longer appears to have her antlers, and her eyes are no longer glowy-green, but more of a duller color.

That's fine! It's not major.
"Yep! They won't harm us. Now, let's find somewhere dry. If my memory doesn't fail me..." Germaine stopped her walk to look around, sight finally settling on a wide street corner. "...there should be a nice place right about there."

A particularly warm light shone from under a building's awning. It does look inviting, a change from the rainy wet weather outside.

"Come on, let's go!" Germaine urged Echo in a sprightly tone. "I'm sure we'll be welcome there."

With lively step, Germaine led Echo to the door of the place. Just standing under the awning gave a relief from the rain falling. A drier place.
She knocked.

No answer.

Germaine frowned lightly but once again tried with a knock.
This time, it seemed that someone inside was going to open.
 

There was a noise of a key opening a lock, and the door slid back a crack. It was just enough for a sliver of warm firelight to stream through along with the sight of a young woman's face.
Germaine smiled politely, and after greeting, asked if she and Echo could go inside. The woman agreed, and opened the door a bit further.

More orange-ish light illuminated the inside of the room, but from the door's angle, not much was visible either. Just a wooden floor and that the room was larger than it looked.
Germaine stepped to the side and motioned for Echo to go in first.

The lady smiled at the goddess from behind the door. "No problem, sweetheart."

The inside of the room had a toasty temperature. Compared to the outside, that was very good! But it wasn't just the warmth. Something else made the area seem comfortable despite its simple decoration.
In fact, the place to which Germaine had led Echo seemed to be an inn. Some tables and chairs were set neatly around the fireplace, while others were put up against the wall. The owner(s) probably were not expecting many visitors that day.
A couple other people sat there too, but they were engaged in their own conversations and didn't look at Echo when she entered. 
The edges of the place are rather dimly lit because of the room's large area.

Germaine entered as well. She was drier now, as water no longer dripped from her hair and clothes even though they were damp.
The shawl Echo was holding was free of excess water now too.
